Our Philosophy
Without caring mentors, positive youth development just doesn’t happen. At First Tee — South Puget Sound we take coaching seriously. We believe that a meaningful, quality relationship between coach and participant is vital to our program.
On the CourseVolunteer Opportunities
First Tee — South Puget Sound currently has more than 30 part-time coaches signed up, including PGA and LPGA pros. We are looking for volunteers to help support the lead coach at one of our ten programming locations (Meadow Park, Chambers Bay, Madrona Links, Gold Mountain, Eagles Pride, Whispering Firs, Tumwater Valley, Mint Valley, and Lake Spanaway). But you don’t have to be a golf pro or even a good golfer to volunteer. First Tee — South Puget Sound is looking for passionate community leaders to help impact the youth in our community.

Tee Up In Gym Class
In elementary schools in our community and across the United States, many students are teeing off for the first time thanks to the First Tee School Program, bringing our curriculum to your child’s gym during physical education class. By teaching elementary students First Tee’s Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits, we’re putting them on the course to a healthy and active lifestyle.
First Tee National School Program
In Youth Centers: First Tee Community Program
We believe our values extend beyond the golf course, which is why we launched a program to meet youth where they spend time.
Specifically designed for youth-serving organizations, like the YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club, First Tee Community Program gives kids the chance to learn about golf and develop character through fun golf games.
